THE FACTORS THAT LEAD TO S.K.E. SOCIETY
During the year 1970, the people of Sindhanur in Raichur district were lagging behind in education. For the ordinary people, it was very difficult to educate their children including the children of rich people too.
A few rich people sent their children to far off places for education. Basic facilities like roads, water, health and education were not available. Even in villages, no one was there to take care of these people, particularly farmers. In this context, some of the educated people tried to open schools to educate their children. But it was very difficult to provide minimum basic facilities to the children and teachers. However, they continued to run primary schools and higher primary schools. It was a great task for them as this private institutions faced many difficulties for getting permission by the government. Naturally the children, who had studied, did not get admission for further education in Government schools and colleges due to the technical problems like recognition of the schools.

A PROGRESSIVE THOUGHT
The circumstances lead the educated farmers, enthusiastic youngsters together to think of opening an education institution in taluka place which will be convenient for all the people with the facility of food, shelter and good teaching. When the thought of naming the institution, the name of the king SRIKRISHNADEVARAYA, who safeguarded our nation, our religion from foreign invaders, cross border enemies and guarded our rich national culture and heritage and built the wealthy kingdom and won the hearts of Kannadigas and Telugu people. Thinking that this was the right name and it was named as SRIKRISHNADEVARAYA VIDHYA SAMSTHE.
A STEP AHEAD
In order to be away from the polluted city, and should not be too far away from the city, started the institution at Sripuram junction, only 4 Kms away from Sindhanur in the academic year 1984-85. During the first year, only primary school was started and later on high school was started. In the beginning, the medium of instruction was both in Telugu and Kannada. English was introduced later as a medium of instruction to meet the needs of the children. Today, children of all the communities and of all languages with different socio- economic status are studying in this institution.
UNIQUE FLORA OF THE CAMPUS
The institution has twenty acres of land near Hosalli Camp, out of which 12 acres is utilized for school and college construction. Hostel building accommodates around 600 students with modern facilities like play ground, well furnished dining room, computer lab, separate play ground for volley ball and throw ball. 3 acres of land is utilized for lake to store drinking water throughout the year. The children are given purified water for drinking. Remaining eight acres of land is kept for future development To cater for professional education like B.Ed., Nursing & Pharmacy colleges. Whole 20 acres of land has fencing to protect the children and the rich flora of the campus. The institution is well connected with roads and good transport facility. The campus is with full of trees and greenery which look like a GURUKULA, the ancient system of Indian education.

With a carefully designed play area, safe toys and a trained staff, we provide an environment where your child can learn, laugh, grow and make friends.
